Evangelist Joy Cooper

Joy Cooper has for a long time had music as an outlet for ministry. But few people know that she actually has the message to go along with it. The message came through loud and clear with her hit song, “What God Has for Me, It is for Me”, for which she and the Miami Mass Choir won a Stellar Award in 1998. While working as a writer, project coordinator and singer along with her husband, Elder Marc Cooper, pastor of Cooper Temple Church of God in Christ Upper Room Ministries, her evangelistic ministry began to manifest itself. Having been an aspiring missionary in her local church, the constant travel with the choir propelled her to seek a broader base of ministry. Due to the enormous testimonies of deliverance through the song, moving into the realm of national evangelism was simply a spiritual progression. Thus, she received her national evangelist license in June of 1999.

Several life changing events have been the catalysts for Pastor and Evangelist Cooper’s immediate call to a higher roll in ministry; notwithstanding the most devastating, the sobering loss of her in-laws, Pastors Lenwood and Mildred Cooper in 1997 and 1998 respectively. “It was then that we realized it was time to really be about our Father’s business and the kingdom of God,” says Evangelist Cooper.

Nowadays Evangelist Cooper’s primary focus is ministry, along with being a helpmeet for her husband in the building of Cooper Temple “Upper Room Ministries”, as well as the challenging task of raising their handsome sons Marc Joshua, Johnathan Marc-Len, and a beautiful daughter, Milen Adele. Evangelist Cooper holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Miami and a Master’s degree in Counseling from St. Thomas University. She has been an educator for a number of years in the Broward County School System. Her desire is to reach the lost and encourage the saints. We hope you will get the message!
