From the day Bishop Marc A. Cooper asked his father, the late Elder Lenwood Cooper Jr. (Founder of Cooper Temple COGIC) to anoint his hands to play the piano, Pastor Cooper has always had a passion for ministry and serving God's people.
Before accepting his call to the ministry in 1995, Superintendent Cooper served as minister of music at Cooper Temple COGIC in Miami, Fl. for many years. It was during these years that his music ministry flourished and expanded into the areas of song writing, music production and the formulation of several groups and choirs, most notably, the Stellar nominated Marc Cooper & Friends and the Stellar Award winning and Grammy nominated Miami Mass Choir.
After the passing of his parents, Elder Lenwood Cooper Jr. (January 1997) and Mother Mildred Cooper (January 1998),the mantle was passed. In August 1998, Pastor Marc was appointed, pastor of Cooper Temple Church of God in Christ, by former General Board member, the late Bishop Jacob Cohen. Under Pastor Cooper's leadership, the church now known as Upper Room Ministries of Miami Gardens experienced exponential growth and a new sanctuary was built in 2001.
Bishop Cooper has been blessed to serve in many capacities, District Superintendent of the Miami District, South Miami District, and the Upper Room Fellowship District in the iEastern Florida Jurisdiction. He served as special assistant to the Interim Bishop of Eastern Florida and General Board member, Bishop Brandon Porter. He organized the jurisdiction's first AIM Convention in 2014 and served as Chairman. Pastor Cooper served as the National Coordinator of Pilgrimage to Pentecost (Department of Evangelism). Bishop Cooper currently serves as District Superintendent of the thriving South Region Fellowship District and Administrative Assistant of Florida Central Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction under the leadership of Bishop Edward Robinson Sr. On June 23, 2021, Bishop Cooper was consecrated and elevated to the office of Auxiliary Bishop in the Church of God in Christ, Inc. (Memphis, TN).
In August 2022, Bishop Marc A. Cooper launched and established the Florida Southeast Ecclesiastical Fellowship comprised of over 28 churches spanning from South Miami, FL to Saint Augustine, FL.
Bishop Marc A. Cooper is truly anointed to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His life's goal is to empower and encourage others to use their gifts and talents to build God's Kingdom.
Bishop Marc A. Cooper is the husband of Evangelist Joy Cooper, the father of Marc Joshua (Alexis), Johnathan and Milen Adele Cooper. He is also blessed to have two beautiful granddaughters, Maeghan Alaina and Aubri Lavonne Cooper.
